Have you ever asks yourself what is a quality life?

This is a question that you need to personally answer in order for you to understand and to where will you direct your efforts in your quest for financial freedom. Lots of people start jumping to the investing bandwagon thinking that if they have any form investments their life will be good and they can achieve a quality life. Thus the question stands, what is a quality life?

I always believe that having the correct definition of the things we want to achieve will guide you in achieving it. Quality life might be defined by some to have a big house, big amount of money in the bank, life insurances, travels twice a year, vacation every quarter, etc. Quality life means that you are financial okay for some but even if you are financially okay you might not also have a quality life. So I believe we are defining it the wrong way. So I guess a quality life is a happy life. But happiness is subjective. With that I believe that quality life is different from one person to another and thus the more that you need to define or set criteria as what it is.

Below is an 18 minute video about happiness by Dr. Srikumar Rao. Please watch it and try to absorb his point of view about happiness.

So we cannot say that if you see somebody that have a small house don’t have a quality life. Or maybe you see somebody only to take vacation to a far place in one or two years unlike you who can take it quarterly. Or maybe you compare yourself to your neighbor who always change their family car every six months, go to world tour thrice a year, and have a buffet lunch weekly at the famous and most expensive hotel.

Your quality life depends on you not on your neighbor’s standards.
